Fringe Comic Number 2
From Fringepedia - The FRINGE wiki
| This page contains semi-canon information. Semi-canon, or partial canon, describes information garnered from sources other than the originally aired episode... sources that are likely to contain references and material provided by both the Creative-Staff and by persons officially associated with the production, distribution, marketing, etc… While it is fully expected that the Creative-Staff had some input into the semi-canon source, FringePedia does not consider the information a part of, or an augmentation to the FRINGE storyline. Explicit communication from the Creative-Staff on any specific semi-canon issue, is the only method to elevate semi-canon to canon, or FringePedia fact. |

Excellent Soap
Synopsis
In Cambridge, Massachusetts, a young William Bell and Walter Bishop are conducting an experiment when a mysterious man named Bradbury arrives. He represents a private company called Fresh Start Soap who's interested in funding their research in teleportation. Hesitant, Walter seeks the advice of an elderly professor, who warns him about past scientific geniuses who sold their services to corporations and were never heard from again. But Walter and Bell can't resist the "unlimited resources" Bradbury promised, and soon find themselves at a giant, secret particle accelerator in Alaska. They meet the beautiful chief scientist, Rachel Matheson, who shows them a teleportation experiment in progress. But the subject, a chimpanzee, turns monstrous in the process, a giant, mutated version of its former self.
Matheson asks for their help, and while Walter is enthusiastic, Bell remains skeptical of the organization's motives. That night, Bell convinces Walter to investigate the rest of the facility with him, and they stumble upon a room full of living disembodied heads floating in a greenish fluid. Even worse, Walter recognizes them as the very same scientists his professor mentioned had disappeared.

Strangers on a Train
Synopsis
A man named Johnson wakes up disoriented on a train pulling into Hoboken. He realizes he has lost a very important briefcase, and that he's got an inexplicable wound on his forehead. When he arrives at home, a dangerous representative of "the agency" scorns him for losing the briefcase, but says he'll give Johnson has a chance to fix the problem. Johnson seeks the help of a friend, who refers him to an odd man named Anthony who can "find anything". Anthony asks where and when Johnson last saw the briefcase, and then gives him a device.Johnson returns to the train station with the device, which locates his briefcase in the hands of a shadowed man on a train (the briefcase is marked property of the Fresh Start Soap Company). When Johnson accosts the man, he realizes it's a past version of himself. He hits the doppelganger on the head, steals the briefcase, and leaves.

Trivia
- The planned original release date was to be September 17, 2008, but was pushed back because:
- - The writer’s of the show want to make sure the comic book is integrated into the mythology of the FRINGE world, so we have decided to refocus the direction of the comic book. Unfortunately, this means that we will have some delays, but will be back in January. - Hank Kanalz, VP/General Manager of WildStorm Comics
