The first season of FRINGE began in late 2008.

  1. Bad Robot Productions and Warner Bros. Television have teamed-up to present this imaginative, graphic, hour-long science-fiction drama about unusual occurences happening around the modern day world -- events with bizarre twists involving; advanced technology, biological research and extreme experimentation that is changing the course of mankind at an unprecedented rate.
  2. Initially, 13 episodes were contracted early in 2008. After the 4th episode aired in late September 2008, due to acclaim and popularity, an additional 9 episodes were added to the first season - giving production the opportunity to complete an entire year to develop, open and close story-arcs without fear of cancellation or hiatus.
  3. In addition to it's popularity in the United States and Canada, the show has been received well in Australia, Sweden, the United Kingdom and Ireland... countries that air the show shortly after it has been released in North America.
  4. Heading into Episode 7, one of the creators shared some thoughts on the direction the show would take. We set out to populate our world from the start with characters and little mysteries that will only pay-off over time... things in the pilot won’t pay off until the third season. There’s almost nothing that’s accidental on the show - no throw-away lines of dialogue. Episode 7 is a foundational episode, and a lot of things will be set up... starting to peel back another layer of the onion.
